Favourites first

Well without further ado i present to you my all time favourite page ...The waiting game
I had scrapped this picture previously but it just didnt work out like i planned  that was until i discovered this tiger paper while attending a beginers class
I have been scrapbooking for a few years but had sooooo much still left to learn and figured it was a good way to meet new people and get away from the kids

We had just learnt about paper curling , fussy cutting and destressing ( shame it wasnt the kind i was thinking , i could use some with 3 kids at home )
I knew i wanted to create the look of the tiger having ripped thru the page  which i managed to achieve with the paper curling
the grey reverse side worked well with the 2nd paper i choose which was the blue ,orange and grey behind the photo
I also knew i wanted to highlight more of the red star burst paper that id matted the picture on but how to achieve this without removing the tiger from the page and still leaving room for the title
fussy cutting and a bit of destressing of course ( i had to use a nail file for such small spaces but the results are worth it

the rest was a matter of fiddling and finding what worked
poking leaves here and there for that slight jungle feel
finding the right colours for the title and deciding where to put the journalling
i used october afternoons school house script for the title and also adding the 09 at the bottom to comemerate the year

after placing my title i dint feel there was room on the page for the jornalling so i made a tag with the blue, grey and orange paper  made a pop-dot pocket on the back of the page and tucked it in there

This photo was taken just days before my 2nd child Dylan was born  it was easter school holidays and after my 1st child arriving after just 45 mins of contractions i was to damn scared to leave the house just incase
we brough a bunch of face paints and gave jayden free reign on my belly which ended up  being a giant easter egg

after we had finished he asked if i could paint his face but with only 3 colours i wasnt sure what to do
he knew exactly though ... A BLUE STRIPPED TIGER
My art skills areshocking but he was happy and so darn adorable to

baby Dylan was born 3 days later after 10 1/2hrs of labour ( go figure )
